There are many definitions for environmentally friendly or sensitive tourism; sustainable tourism, eco-tourism, eco-tours or alternative tourism being some of them. Our GeoVenture criteria are based on those ecotourism principles, which were developed and published in 2002 by the National Geographic Society. It deals with the kind of tourism that respects, maintains and even helps to develop the imminent character of a region - environment, culture, aesthetics, and quality of life.
We take you where your hosts do not treat you like tourists, but rather meet you with the same openness and curiosity, with which you treat the people of your host country.

We work with carefully chosen local guides, who speak fluently the language you prefer, and who take you to places which are rarely visited by (most) tourists. You can experience spectacular scenery very closely, monuments „off the beaten track“, a life rooted in traditions, even in a metropolis such as Bangkok.

You explore the local markets in Ayutthaya or Sukhothai, experience Laos and the royal city of Luang Prabang from the river Mekong, try (and cook, if you want) exotic dishes as a guest in a Thai teak house. Travel by air-conditioned van or alternatively by local means of transportation. Stay in handpicked traditional accommodations, in bed & breakfasts, or in boutique-hotels.
